    Hi Community!

    I was wondering what training everyone uses for Diversity and Inclusion awareness in support work. Everything that I have found so far seems very tailored to an office environment and the NDIS/NDS doesn't have anything in this space that I am aware of. Thank you in advance for any responses.

    I encourage you to check out Let's Talk Disability Let's Talk Disability is a half day workshop that is supported by NDS and is led by people with disability.

    If you would like further information on this program, I am more than happy to put in you touch with the Program Manager to discuss if this may be an option for you/your organisation. 

    Looking forward to hearing from the Community on their suggestions and experiences in this area.

    Hi, there is some training, short and sweet but to the point here        It has a brief assessment afterward and once completed a certificate can be downloaded.

    Coupled with these other small module LGBTI+          and Discrimination and the role of the Support Worker this seems to work for many providers.

    All three small modules have assessments and certifications.

    Hi Polly

     

    We use the online training provided by SBS on Diversity and Inclusion.  From memory, each module takes about 20 to 30 minutes.  Our staff have given us very good feedback about it.
