Hi Paula,
It is great that your organisation is thinking ahead to provide accessible housing which is what is really needed! The success of getting SDA funding for improved liveability may be more of a challenge and the SDA package amounts are smaller, so it is a business consideration to assess the viability. I would suggest the business consider if the housing would be viable in the absence of SDA funding, though build to SDA standard and certification to keep the option available.
For our clients with Huntington's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder, many start with SDA Improved Liveability associated with their underlying diagnosis then progress to high physical supports as they deteriorate, so need the house to ultimately be high physical supports.
Dear community - what are your experiences? Are there some successful strategies for Improved Liveability in the SDA space?
Anne

Subject: Improved Livability SDA
Hi NDP community
Does anyone have any advice, feedback or data regarding the demand for Improved Livability in SDA services please?
I have the NDIS report which includes projected demand for this service up to 2030, however I want to get a feel for what this is like from a service provider perspective.
The organisation I work for is about to build SDA property (not on demand for a particular participant) and wants to best meet the demands for people in need of accessible housing, and, with ILO in mind.
If you have any wisdom you could impart, it would be most appreciated please
Kind regards
Paula
