  • 1.  Starting a Plan Management Company Tips Please!

    Hi there,
    I'm looking into starting a PM company but have hit a problem! I'm not a bookkeeper/accountant and wonder if I simply need to engage a tax agent for compliance purposes or employ a bookkeeper/accountant as a contractor?

    Hi Joanne,

    what a great question and a pitty there are no recommendations in this thread.

    I have been looking into exactly this issue myself of late because I am in the same position, and I was wondering if you so ehow elsewhere found the answer to your question? And most importantly, did you end up starting your business?

    I am not very "business minded" as such, however, it has been a long term goal of mine to have my own case management/plan management/Support Coordination business but have no idea when it comes to the..how to start it, how to obtain clients and market myself etc.

    I think I would start by working in another company that provides these services to make sure its what you really want to do. I would also learn from them and how they run their business. (Both good and bad aspects) Then start small and branch out. It's a wonder no one has started a franchise model! I hope that helps in some way.
